The museum has extensive anthropological collections: Asian People, Pacific People, Man in Africa, American Indian collections, general Native American collections, collections from Mexico and Central America. Besides these collections, several thematic halls offer the opportunity to see different relics, such as:

Hall of Human Origins – Presents an in-depth investigation of human evolution, with displays of the Homo sapiens (many of which were part of the original exhibit), as well as Australopithecus afarensis, Homo ergaster, Neanderthal and Cro – Magnon.

Fossil Hall – With more than 600 specimens on display, the exhibits allow visitors to trace the evolution of vertebrates by following a path that leads through the different periods of each specie. See the Tyrannosaurus rex, the Brontops, the Mammoths and the Apatosaurus among other remarkable fossils.

Rose Center for Earth and Space – Enjoy its awesome planetarium and the center’s permanents exhibits.

Hall of Meteorites – Home of Ahnighito, a section of the Cape York Meteorite.

Moreover, there is too much to discover in other areas such as the Hall of Minerals and Gems, the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life and the museum’s library. In addition, permanent exhibits and activities for children are frequently organized.

Therefore, do not miss the opportunity of a great adventure at the American Museum of Natural History.
